What's social graph?
Social Graph is modeling that show the relationship between people or users of social network sites. There are node and edges like graph in mathematics.
Node is social network’s users and edge is the relationship between 2 users such as, friends, stranger, friend of friend etc.
- Email to facebook: users can use their email to sign up account with facebook or use email address to search the facebook account. Linking between facebbok and users’ email make the searching more easily and users can find o lot of their friends.
- Facebook to Groupon: this word is from group and coupon. Groupon is the electronic commerce which is deal-of-the-day website. This website will deal with the store or companies and promotes the goods to facebook’s users. There will be discount and reword for inviting other people to join. If uses can ask invites friend to join and buy the goods reach the number that websites ask, users will get discount. This idea is very interesting because it can use the powerful of social network and graph.
How Social Date Traverse
This picture below shows mind map of social graph’s sharing. You can see that, social network sites are in the middle and link with users’ email. The outbound are other websites that connect to the social network sites such as, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedlIn, YouTube, etc.
Our professor asks us to use program that create our facebook’s social graph and descripe the relationship of graph to us. My facebook friends are many groups, classified in my high school friend, university friends, relatives and social network friends. Some group linked together by some of my friend become friend to each other. Even, there are some people connected but it makes my graph more complicated. Some of my friend is in the both group.
My facebook friends are about 700 people but there are many type of relationship. This small graph can show me many things like small world theory and six degree which can find the stranger by mutual friend of friend 6 times. Form this graph; I can conclude that the social network is very powerful. It start from 1 person then go ahead in to millions so, there are many people that want to develop their websites via facebook or twitter; the powerful social network sites in nowadays.
How to integrating you Social Business Platform
Goal: Building interactive your customers and their workflow
There are many types of integration that you can choose:
- Complex vendor integration: such as Salesforce, SAP or Sarepoint
- Custome Integration: this type must use vendor’s API to connect with customer
- Simple Integration: this type will show mini icon for user to link with your sites
How to make a Site Social?
Social is from ‘s,o,c,i,a,l’ letters. Let’s see what each letter stand for.
- S is Stimulating.
Social network platform must have good mixing of interaction stimuli. Every factors must equal; presence, identity, reputation, relation, conversation, activity, group and sharing.
- O is Organic.
Social platform allow uses to form their structure and having self-organize like free grouping and free tagging.
- C is Collaborative.
There is sensible mixing of social collaboration and communication tools.
- I is Intelligent.
There are sets of collaborative filters, harnessing the wisdom of the crown and identifying quality.
- A is Adapted.
Social platform must adapt to the customers or employees.
- L is Linked.
Social Platform must support the users to use the external link, network or content.
